This refill cartridge is for the Sperian Flash Flood Eyewash Station, . The sterile solution in these factory-sealed cartridges is superior to using ordinary tap water for mixing and measuring eye-wash solution. Plumbed or other tank-type eyewash devices may contain harmful bacteria, molds, fungi or airborne contaminants that can contaminate the fluid and cause additional eye damage. A sterile or buffered saline solution is the most effective flushing fluid for emergency first aid. Each refill cartridge contains one gallon of saline, is safety sealed and dated and requires a 6-month maintenance cycle. Unopened cartridges have a shelf life of up to 24 months, determined by date of manufacture.
