This robust, shovel-type soil sampler features a slightly tapered design that removes a flat, 8" x 4" plug with a clean, precise cut. The blade half can be quickly and easily removed for examination of the soil profile, root depth and density. After inspection, the plug can be easily replaced with minimum surface disturbance.
